Asplundh Engineering Services provides superior, full service professional engineering, engineering support, equipment procurement, and automation controls integration—from planning and design to implementation and commissioning.  AES-Ambler’s in-house panel shop allows custom control design/build manufacturing.  We have been delivering reliable design of complex electrical systems for over 20 years and are a pioneer in the development of engineering and controls automation.
Job Type: Full-Time +, Exempt

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Design and Programming of SCADA Systems
  • Design and Programming of PLC-based control systems
  • Computer Aided Drafting in AutoCAD
  • Point to Point Wiring Diagrams
  • Assist engineering with control wiring and control concepts
  • Maintaining SCADA systems in the field
  • Design and Programming of SCADA Systems. Experience with Wonderware and Ignition is a plus.
  • Design and Programming of PLC-based control systems. Experience with Allen-Bradley is a plus.
  • Configuring Third-Party Software Systems for Power Applications
  • Project Budgeting
  • Utilize basic engineering principles and practical design solutions.
  • Assist in the development and review of custom designs and sequences
  • Assist with Equipment Deliveries
  • Work with Clients, Sales People, Managers, and Engineers to coordinate project designs
  • Work with sub-consultant(s) to coordinate trades
  • Participate in an on-call schedule rotation
  • Attend job meetings & coordinate activities as required
  • Attend training as requested to further enhance your duties
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail
  • Ability to work an on-call schedule
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding initiative, a well-organized and strong sense of responsibility
  • Excellent computer knowledge and advanced skills using Microsoft Office applications are required
Education & Experience:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related major (preferred)
  • 3 plus years of experience in a systems integration role
License & Certifications:
  • Driver License required
Travel: 
Anticipated travel for this role is 25% to 50% including overnight stays and local day travel.  You will be responsible for providing your own transportation to and from the office and job sites.  You will be reimbursed for business expenses such as tolls, parking and business-related mileage at a rate allowable by government standards.  The expenses incurred traveling to and from the office are excluded from reimbursement.
Physical Requirements:
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
