Job description

KDG Construction Consulting is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Systems Integrator with extensive experience driving the design, execution, and integration of complex IT and special systems for major aviation infrastructure projects. This individual will serve as the owner's representative and subject matter expert, overseeing the implementation of low-voltage networks, airport operational systems, and technology innovations across multiple terminal projects while ensuring seamless alignment with enterprise infrastructure and legacy frameworks.
The ideal candidate will have a deep background in large-scale system integration within an active airport environment and possess strong knowledge of construction management practices, stakeholder coordination, and advanced aviation technology systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary IT liaison and owner's representative, working closely with executive technical teams, system owners, and federal agencies.
• Oversee the design, buildout, and commissioning of IT rooms, networks, horizontal/backbone cabling, and specialized airport infrastructure.
• Review and validate IT scope costs, contractors' change requests, shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
• Lead integration workshops, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT) through final deployment and commissioning.
• Coordinate the migration and integration of passenger processing, baggage handling, CCTV, access control (ACAMS), flight information, public announcements, and airfield/ramp management systems.
• Facilitate the integration of building automation systems (BAS), lighting controls, and facility management control systems (FMCS) into the broader enterprise network.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure all contractor-provided IT systems meet strict network and data security requirements.
• Track project milestones, identify potential constructability or operational issues, and devise action plans to mitigate delays and active operational impacts.
• Manage the final testing, commissioning, and closeout process for IT systems to ensure efficient data handover and documentation compliance.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, Business, or a related technical field.
• 15+ years of experience in an IT systems integration or project management capacity, with a strong preference for large-scale airport projects.
• Proven experience supporting major capital development programs valued at more than $100 million within active, high-volume operational environments.
• Extensive technical expertise in passenger processing systems, terminal networks, baggage routing, and facility/mechanical automation controls.
• Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-CMAR, and Design/Build.
• Strong knowledge of change management protocols for deploying new technology or interfacing with complex legacy IT systems.
• Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level stakeholder communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and familiarity with digital content management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional certifications or licensure such as PMP, PE, CCM, AAAE, or LEED.
• Hands-on ability to work with or review designs in CAD or REVIT.
• Proven track record of managing multi-agency technical stakeholders to a mutual resolution on complex design or deployment challenges.
Anticipated Salary Range: $230,000.00 – $265,000.00 per year
