Titan Florida LLC seeks a Quality Control Manager to work at the Pennsuco Complex located in Medley, Florida.  This position is responsible for optimization of the quality of the Plant’s products and performance.  This role will define and implement the short, medium and long-term strategies to meet our customers’ product quality requirements at optimum cost and in line with the company’s strategy and applicable standards. 


  • Set the Quality department goals and objectives in line with the plant objectives and applicable engineering principles.
  • Ensure the safe work environment rules and practices are understood, implemented and consistently followed by the Quality department employees and contractors.
  • Define, followup and optimize the Quality department expenses.
  • Ensure adoption and adherence to Titan standards, norms and best practices.
  • Lead and develop the Quality department processes to meet desired requirements, improve operations and promote personnel development.
  • Supervise preparation, adoption and review of documentation of the Quality System to be in line with the Quality Assurance System (QAS).
  • Take all appropriate actions to ensure that production targets, customer expectations and regulatory specifications are achieved.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the Quality Management System and monitor the application of the system in the plant.
  • Detect, investigate, and report any deviations in the specifications of the test results for all products. Make recommendations based on findings.
  • Report nonconformity and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage the relationships with the certification agencies regarding product certification and approval.
  • Specify, commission, and qualify the new laboratory equipment.
  • Establish a quality control plan for each step of the process.
  • Establish specifications for quality of the plant’s raw materials, fuels, intermediate and finished products.
  • Establish quality procedures to be followed by the plant to ensure quality at all intermediary steps of the process and monitor their implementation.
  • Assure compliance with the quality requirements listed in the contracts with customers.
  • Give feedback on the opportunities for product development presented by the Business Unit Marketing & Sales and contribute to the definition of new product specifications.
  • Ensure that new products have established testing procedures and parameters.
  • Directly supervise Lab Chemist and Cement Quality Control Supervisor and indirectly supervise 7 Process Chemists, who report to Cement Quality Control Supervisor.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent foreign degree.
  • 7 years of experience in quality control and process in the cement production industry and supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Strong reasoning and math abilities.
  • Experience with process improvement at a cement manufacturing plant.
  • Experience with utilizing an objective approach to problem solving.
  • Experience assessing processes using an SPC (Statistical Process Control) approach.
  • Persuasive communication and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and specifications mainly being physical and chemical testing related to ASTM C150).
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in ISO Standards: 9000 and 14000 as well as API Q1.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in ISO 17025 (Auditor experience) including implementation and accreditation to organisms recognized by ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation).
  • Experience in calculating and interpreting uncertainty according to ISO17025.
  • Knowledge of cement manufacturing design, applicable engineering processes and equipment.
  • Experience in the commissioning and execution of projects related to new equipment in Cement Plant.
  • Experience in production and quality control of special cements: White Cement, Well Cements (ISO10426).
  • Experience with commonly used computer software, including MS Office Suite.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
