Job description

SUMMARY: Monitor Cranmore's Base First Aid location(s) to provide first aid and other necessary assistance to mountain skiers, snowboarders and guests.  As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee’s job is to provide superior service to our guests. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Professional CPR/AED. Outdoor Emergency Care Technician (OEC) or National Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) or Wilderness First Responder (WFR). National Ski Patrol (NSP) Membership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Patrol assigned mountain areas regularly to ensure that all trails are properly marked, to identify injured, lost, out of control and reckless skiers and snowboarders; to identify existing or potential hazards and to monitor and report on weather/trail conditions, slope traffic and the like.
  • Provide general emergency, first aid and rescue training for other company personnel.
  • Search for missing persons and equipment.
  • Complete accident reports, both written and online, take photographs and assist in the preparation of other documentation of incidents.
  • Maintain a dispatch log of calls.
  • Assist in maintaining tools and equipment used in rescue and trail maintenance and in maintaining base first aid facilities.
  • Stand by awaiting emergency calls.
  • Respond to all guests in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Flexible working hours.  Some job sharing may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY

  • Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Cranmore Mountain Resort guests at all times.
  • Report any potentially hazardous equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without
  • Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
  • Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
  • Drive in accordance with NH State law and Cranmore Mountain Resort policies.

Experience with computers and use of various programs, including online medical charting is a plus, but will train and/or mentor the chosen applicant in specific duties.
