The Web Designer supports the development of design standards, UX best practices, and governance processes that promote consistency across mission systems. This role operates within a classified environment supporting national security objectives through the effective delivery of user-centered digital experiences.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate existing web applications, portals, dashboards, and user interfaces supporting Space and Counterspace missions.
  • Assess user experience (UX), information architecture, navigation structures, and visual design elements to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations for enhancing usability, accessibility, consistency, and overall user effectiveness across web-based systems.
  • Conduct reviews of wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and design specifications to ensure alignment with mission requirements and established standards.
  • Evaluate compliance with accessibility requirements, web standards, and government design guidelines.
  • Support the development and maintenance of UI/UX design standards, style guides, and governance processes.
  • Analyze user feedback, usage metrics, and operational requirements to inform design recommendations and modernization efforts.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, software developers, engineers, and mission partners to assess proposed design changes and enhancements.
  • Document findings, assessments, and recommendations to support system improvements and decision-making activities.
  • Support testing and validation efforts to ensure implemented design changes achieve intended usability and operational outcomes.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Web Design, User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in web design, UI/UX design, user research, digital product design, or a related discipline.
  • Experience reviewing, evaluating, or designing web applications, websites, dashboards, or enterprise user interfaces.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Axure, or equivalent technologies.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) with Current Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), or other federal government programs.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and government web design frameworks, including Section 508 compliance and U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) principles.
  • Experience supporting data visualization platforms, intelligence analysis tools, or mission-focused operational dashboards.
