Responsibilities

ย Role:

The Electrical Technologist will provide electrical and instrumentation technical support for Eastman Manufacturing Units in Kingsport, TN. ย Individuals in this role utilize a broad range of electrical skills on projects that range from small, fast-paced production projects to development projects, to execution of capital projects.ย ย 


Responsibilities:ย 
ย  ย  ย The primary responsibility will be to support a manufacturing division in the design and installation of various electrical projects including engineering studies, electrical equipment/instrument specification and selection, capital project support, project estimating, technical field support and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment, project scope documentation, wiring and motor circuit installations, instrumentation selection and installation design, basic programming, etc.


ย  ย  ย Work closely with various teams to meet maintenance and production objectives.


ย  ย  Support electrical projects through design, installation, troubleshooting, and documentation.


ย  ย  Utilize various digital tools and software for project management and documentation.


ย  ย  Produce drawings, cost estimates, and support department initiatives while ensuring safety.


ย  ย  Support and mentor teams, contribute to global engineering initiatives, and provide electrical technical support for troubleshooting and operational improvements.

Qualifications

ย  ย Associates Degree or 5 years equivalent experience in technical field.


ย  ย Advanced and specialized expertise, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience. Strong preference for experience in an industrial or chemical plant environment.

Preferred experience to include:
ย  ย Technical Expertise: Experience with designing, drafting, field verification, installation, documentation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving equipment in an industrial plant environment. Familiarity with electrical distribution systems and working knowledge of the latest National Electrical Code (NEC) is desirable.


ย  ย Project Management & Coordination: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate multidisciplinary projects from concept through execution.


ย  ย Software & Systems Proficiency: Experience with MicroStation CADD or equivalent design software. Experience with, or the ability to quickly learn and utilize, tools such as ProjectWise, SAP, SEIGA, SharePoint, AIMs, Power BI, MOC systems, and the Microsoft Office suite.


ย  ย Analysis & Communication: Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to interpret manufacturing requests, evaluate technical issues, and convey practical engineering solutions.


ย  ย Professional Effectiveness: Customer-focused, self-motivated, and goal-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
