Description: Position Summary


This position is well suited for an individual with a combination of manufacturing engineering, quality inspection, CAD, and technical manufacturing experience who enjoys working in a varied role rather than focusing on a single engineering discipline.

The Manufacturing Engineering & Quality Specialist will play an important role in ensuring customer requirements are understood, manufacturing information is accurate, parts are inspectable and manufacturable, and Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Production have the information needed to successfully complete each job.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working both at a computer and on the manufacturing floor and can effectively communicate with customers, vendors, engineering, quality, and production personnel.


Key Responsibilities

· Review customer prints and engineering drawings to determine manufacturing capability and assist with vendor sourcing.

· Create and maintain internal manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.

· Review customer contracts, purchase orders, and related documentation for applicable requirements and compliance.

· Operate and program CMM to assist quality department with inspection activities.

· Review and support First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation and requirements.

· Create and maintain bills of material, part numbers, and related manufacturing information within the company’s MRP system.

· Perform EDM programming in support of manufacturing operations.

· Provide technical and manufacturing assistance to personnel on the shop floor.

· Communicate with vendors and customers regarding manufacturing capabilities, technical requirements, drawings, and sourcing needs.

· Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Production, and Sales to support successful completion of customer requirements.

Requirements: Qualifications

· Experience working in a precision manufacturing or machining environment.

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, prints, specifications, and technical documentation.

· Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.

· Familiarity with dimensional inspection and precision measuring equipment.

· Familiarity with First Article Inspection requirements.

· Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

· Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.

· Ability to balance office-based technical work with hands-on support on the manufacturing floor.

· Production floor machine programming support (EDM, CNC)
