Job description

Job Description
If you can run a contract portfolio end-to-end in a fast-paced government contracting setup, we'd like to connect!
Who we are:
  • FedTech is a group of entrepreneurially minded people on a mission to unlock the benefits of technology.
  • We believe in the value of deep tech and its positive impact on the world, aspiring to democratize access to it for entrepreneurs and professionals around the world.
  • We are venture builders who thrive at the intersection of US entrepreneurship, breakthrough technologies, and mission-driven organizations.
  • Since 2015, we have supported over 1,000 companies that have collectively raised more than $5B in funding, while also partnering with hundreds of corporate, government, and university clients.

What you'll do:
As Senior Contracts Administrator, you will be the organization's expert in contracts administration, independently managing the full contract lifecycle across FedTech's portfolio - negotiating agreements, managing subcontractor and prime relationships, and ensuring compliance across federal contracts, grants, and commercial agreements. You will be the subject matter expert in contracts administration, reducing risk while improving consistency and efficiency. This is a highly independent role partnering closely with Finance, Program Ops, Growth, project teams, leadership, and external stakeholders.
Typical functions include:
  • Independently lead terms, conditions, and risk negotiations across federal, grant, and commercial contracts/agreements, partnering with delivery, BD, and other teams to facilitate alignment, including management of subcontract relationships under primes (flow-downs, NDAs, and teaming agreements, etc)
  • Manage the subcontract agreement process and relationships independently (drafting through closeout), ensuring subcontractor compliance and reporting standards, with support from Program Ops
  • Administer contracts across multiple types (Firm-Fixed-Price, Time & Materials, Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee) and vehicles (GSA Schedules, BPAs, and IDIQs), plus other vehicles such as federal grants, cooperative agreements, and commercial agreements for corporate and university clients
  • Review RFPs, RFIs, and proposal materials to ensure contractual and compliance alignment prior to submission
  • Ensure adherence to FAR, DFARS, and applicable regulations (CMMC familiarity a plus), proactively identifying and resolving compliance gaps
  • Independently manage contract records in FedTech's ERP system (Unanet), ensuring enterprise compliance with federal and state registrations, insurance requirements, novations, and transitions
  • Partner with Finance and Program Ops on contract setup, invoicing alignment, and closeout; coordinate with contracting officers, external legal counsel, and internal teams on compliance and contracting implications
  • Lead specialized contracts-related projects (i.e., compliance audits, template development, vendor negotiations, regulatory updates) as priorities shift

Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
Required:
  • 7+ years in contracts administration or a closely related GovCon function, with demonstrated expertise in executing the full contract lifecycle independently
  • Direct, hands-on negotiation experience on federal prime contracts
  • Subcontract management experience, including drafting, negotiating, and administering subcontract agreements
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert in FAR, DFARS, and federal contracting compliance; ability to serve as authoritative advisor to senior leadership and internal stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience across multiple contract types (Firm-Fixed-Price, Time & Materials, Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee) and federal vehicles such as GSA Schedules, BPAs, and IDIQs
  • Hands-on experience setting up and maintaining contracts in an ERP system (Unanet, Deltek Costpoint, or comparable GovCon ERP)

Preferred:
  • Experience administering federal grants or cooperative agreements (e.g., NSF)
  • Commercial or non-federal contracting experience (strongly preferred)
  • Experience in a small or mid-size organization as the primary contracts authority, owning the full contract lifecycle across federal and commercial work
  • NCMA or similar certification

Our Values:
  • Boldness: We have the fortitude to forge new paths and push beyond our comfort
  • Unity: We treat our clients, team members and partners as we would like to be treated - we are one united team
  • Introspection: We recognize introspection is the necessary ingredient in which self-improvement flourishes
  • Leadership: We embrace servant leadership - putting the interests of client, team partners and partners first
  • Decisiveness: We have a strong bias towards action

Compensation:
  • Base salary range: $112-130k
    • The salary range listed for this position is based on market data and internal compensation structure. The final compensation package will be determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and education. This range is not a guarantee of compensation, and offers may fall outside this range in exceptional cases.
  • In addition to the base salary, compensation includes performance-based bonus (OTE)
  • A competitive benefits package including 401K with employer match, health/dental/vision plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield, accrued PTO, professional development funds, employer paid disability insurance, parental leave, transportation and wellness reimbursements, amongst others.

Location:
Hybrid work arrangement (3 days in person at or headquarters in Arlington, VA, and 2 days remote).
Travel:
Up to 5%
