Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton is currently seeking a Sector Contracts Director. This senior leadership level position will report to the Sector Vice President for Contracts and require an experienced contracts management professional who is able to successfully sustain accountability and responsibility for the following core areas of responsibilities:

  • Business Operations: Manages and provides leadership of the Sector contracts function for contract negotiation, analysis, and administration; guidance and oversight of proposal preparation; and customer engagement related to contract acquisition and fulfillment in order to achieve company annual operating plan. Advising and assisting the negotiation of subcontracts, teaming, and non-disclosure agreements. Ensures that Sector contracts achieve optimal operational and financial performance by adhering to contract policies, procedures, methods, operating practices, and working in partnership with the business leaders to drive performance standards for contractual programs to culminate in excellent CPARs and achievement of financial goals. Facilitates effective implementation of contract responsibilities within program objectives and requirements.
  • Advisement and Compliance: Reviews and resolves all issues affecting company compliance and ensures satisfaction of legal requirements, Company, and customer objectives by working closely with the Sector President, Chief Contracts Officer, Chief Legal Officer, and other senior executives. Provides strategic guidance to completion on more complex bids such as intellectual property components, contracts requiring overseas support, etc. Advises Sector management of contractual rights and obligations, identifying risk areas and mitigation strategies, and provides interpretation of terms and conditions. Partners with sector team in the development of negotiation strategies and leads negotiation team on contractual issues. Supports change management and process improvement initiatives, whenever needed.
  • Staff Management: Leads, mentors, trains, develops, and manages a team of geographically dispersed contract professionals. Reviews and directs the activities of contract professionals including highly complex solicitations and assists the Sector Contracts team members in the preparation of specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals, bids, and contract modifications. Provides people leadership and mentorship of Sector contracts personnel through team and individual performance appraisals and reviews, evaluations, and evidence-based examples of good performance.
  • Liaison: Focal point for communications with senior executives, legal, finance and business team for resolution of contract issues and disputes. Advocate and foster data quality and precision within systems and tools. Effectuate a strong working relationship with customers' contractual leaders.
Qualifications
  • 16+ years of related work Experience working as a Contracts professional in the federal contracting in positions of progressive responsibility, including 5+ years of experience managing employees.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI and willingness/ability to be processed for additional agency-specific clearances.
  • An in-depth knowledge about federal government contracting, to include federal acquisition process and regulations. Actual experience managing contracts within the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and/or Aerospace sector is highly desirable.
  • Business acumen with ability to think critically and develop creative and practical solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge on developing organizational conflict of interest mitigation plans and teaming agreements.
  • Demonstrated experience with the development and negotiation of large, highly complex bids.
  • Experience managing a variety of contract types.
  • Strong writing and time management skills.
  • Reputation for unqualified commitment to integrity and professionalism.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to employees and management at all levels.
  • Attention to detail and organization.
  • Highly adaptable to change; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-moving environment.

Target Salary Range$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
