Job description

ROLE OVERVIEW

Nscale is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of contracts, from initial negotiation and drafting through execution and ongoing compliance. In this role, you will work closely with Legal, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to ensure contractual agreements align with organizational policies, legal requirements, and business objectives.

This role is responsible for maintaining strong contract governance, supporting compliance, and ensuring contracts are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle. Success in this role means delivering well-managed agreements, maintaining accurate contract records, proactively tracking contractual obligations, and continuously improving contract management processes.

CONTRACT DEVELOPMENT & NEGOTIATION
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, vendors, clients, and partners
  • Ensure contract terms and conditions protect organizational interests
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks before execution
CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION
  • Maintain a centralized contract database and documentation system
  • Track contract milestones, renewal dates, and compliance deadlines
  • Monitor contract performance and vendor/partner compliance with agreed terms
LEGAL & COMPLIANCE
  • Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Collaborate with the Legal department on complex or high-risk agreements
  • Identify potential legal issues and escalate as appropriate
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COORDINATION
  • Work cross-functionally with Procurement, Finance, Operations, and other departments
  • Communicate contract terms to relevant stakeholders
  • Provide contract guidance and training to internal teams
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
  • Implement standardized contract templates and processes
  • Track contract metrics and reporting
  • Identify opportunities to streamline contract management procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 - 5 years of contract management or related experience
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and commercial terms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with contract management software and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with procurement or vendor management preferred
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations preferred
  • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems preferred
