About the Role:
We are seeking a Legal Contracts Manager with experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a high volume of routine and complex contracts. The specialist will have the ability to analyze and interpret legal language and work directly with business colleagues to prepare contracts for execution and implementation. The candidate will support the business by providing training and education on our contract management system and will assist with financial requisitions. The role requires an individual with strong legal knowledge, autonomous work habits, ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships, proficiency in computer software, and excellent organizational and time management skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of corporate contracts, be detail-oriented, and possess the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal teams and management. Self-motivation, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn are essential qualities that will contribute to the success in this position.
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Draft, review, negotiate and file a high volume of routine contracts
  • Communicate with internal business partners regarding the risks presented by contract terms and possible strategies to mitigate such risk
  • Support administration of the company's contract management system (CMS)
  • Assist in determining the necessary approach to contracts and ensuring protection of the company's proprietary technology
  • Assist in approving financial requisitions on behalf of the Legal department
  • Use a wide range of legal or specialized knowledge to provide legal support services in an efficient and timely manner
  • Exercise good judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Use initiative and discretion in accomplishing routine assignments with minimal supervision
  • Research legal issues and engage in fact gathering and checking to provide support on all assigned legal matters
  • Other job duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree and 6+ years of relevant experience OR
  • Master's degree and 4+ years of related experience
  • Paralegal Certificate required
  • Biotech/Pharma industry experience strongly preferred
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents and to effectively present information to business partners and management
  • Must be able to work independently and use judgment, within defined practices and policies, regarding contractual matters
  • Must have expertise with legal contracts and documents
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior level law professionals
  • Must have thorough working knowledge of computer software, including word processing, email and database programs
  • Understands key business drivers and uses this understanding to accomplish work
  • Has strong understanding of processes, procedures and systems used to accomplish the work and recognizes downstream impact on other functional areas
  • Proficient with tools and processes that support work conducted by functional area
  • Ability to work as part of a team; may train lower levels

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $119,700.00-$164,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
