Job Description
Job Title: Web Content Strategist and Writer
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Web Content Strategist and Writer with our client located in Durham, NC.
Job Description:
  • We're looking for a Web Content Writer who can do more than write clean copy.
  • This person should be able to think strategically about how a page works - how users move through it, what information they need at each step, and how content, layout, and calls to action should work together to drive engagement and conversion.
  • This role is a strong fit for someone who is equal parts writer and web strategist: someone who can write sharp, effective B2B web copy, shape page structure, and partner closely with web, UX, AEO/SEO, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve the quality and performance of key digital experiences.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Write and refine web copy for key digital experiences, including landing pages, product pages, campaign pages, and other high-visibility site content.
  • Help shape page messaging and information flow based on audience needs, business goals, and the user journey.
  • Recommend the best content structure for pages - including hierarchy, section flow, headlines, supporting copy, and calls to action - to improve clarity and conversion.
  • Partner with UX, web, AEO/SEO, and internal stakeholders to turn briefs and messaging into effective web experiences.
  • Balance strong brand writing with practical web best practices, including readability, scanability, and search visibility.
  • Use performance insights to improve copy, page layout, and calls to action over time.
  • Contribute to content reviews and revisions, incorporating stakeholder feedback while keeping copy clear, concise, and user-focused.

Job Qualifications:
  • Strong experience writing web copy that is clear, concise, and built for action.
  • Solid understanding of user journey, page hierarchy, and how content supports navigation, comprehension, and conversion.
  • Ability to think beyond the words on the page and make smart recommendations about layout, flow, and content structure.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketers, product teams, web teams, designers, or UX partners.
  • Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with multiple stakeholders and rounds of feedback.
  • Bachelors in English, Communications, Journalism, and the like
  • 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience writing for B2B technology companies.
  • Experience with product, solutions, or campaign pages in a complex technical space.
  • Familiarity with AEO/SEO fundamentals and writing for discoverability.

Job Details:
  • Job Type: Contract
  • Pay Range: $50-$54 an hour.
  • Location: Durham, NC (Onsite).
