Job description

Price Industries Inc. is on the search for a Design Engineer for our growing US office and manufacturing facility located in Suwanee, GA. This position will lead the design, test and release of new product.

 
Responsibilities:

  • Understand and comply with safety standard requirement.

  • Initiate and lead design FMEAs, design reviews, and preproduction builds with multi-discipline development team

  • Manage the creation of internal and external design documentation including bill of materials and submittal

  • Support the collection and evaluation of product cost

  • Support the development, design, and production of new and existing HVAC equipment

  • Designing and modifying sheet metal housings, panels, coil and fan assemblies

  • Perform coil, fan, and heater selections with vendor software

  • Size components and validate selections

  • Balance performance, manufacturability, cost, and serviceability

  • Evaluate test data and implement appropriate actions

  • Create clear engineering documents such as BOMs and parts details

  • Support prototype builds, lap testing and performance validations

  • Drive design improvements from concept through production

  • Take ownership of specific sub-systems and models

  • Mentor junior engineers and drafters

  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

Qualifications:

  • B.S in Engineering (emphasis in Mechanical or equivalent)

  • Strong computer-based skills and proficiency with 3D CAD and MS Office applications

  • Proficiency in Excel engineering calculations and data analysis 

  • Time management across multiple projects

  • Experience in sheet metal manufacturing in HVAC industry preferrence

  • Basic understanding of FEA using Solidworks Simulation 

  • Understanding of design for manufacturability concepts

  • Understanding of PDM 

  • Working knowledge of UL/ETL safety standards preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively with peers to resolve issues and implement change

  • Technical and mechanical aptitude with attention to detail
