Job Posting: Mechanical Designer (Semiconductor / Facility Design)
Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124 (Hybrid – Regular on-site visits required)
Pay Rate: $36.00–$48.00/hour (DOE)
Position Type: 1-Year Contract
Experience: 3–15 Years
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to support facility expansion projects at a semiconductor manufacturing site. This role combines hands-on field verification with mechanical design, requiring close collaboration with engineers, project teams, and construction trades to develop accurate facility and tool-install design packages.
Key Responsibilities
•Create 2D/3D designs, equipment layouts, P&IDs, and tool hook-up drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
•Perform field walks and develop accurate as-built drawings.
•Design mechanical utility and process piping systems, including HVAC, hydronics, gas, and water systems.
•Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve design issues.
•Support construction through RFIs, submittal reviews, code compliance, and punch-list inspections.
•Assist with project planning and mentor junior designers.
Qualifications
•3–15 years of mechanical design experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
•Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
•Experience with mechanical/process piping systems and applicable building codes.
•Ability to work in a hybrid role with regular on-site visits in Hillsboro, OR.
