Job description

Water/Wastewater Engineer

Department: Water/Wastewater

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Birmingham, AL

Reporting To: Michael Mecredy

Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 / year

Description

Waggoner Engineering is actively seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our team in Birmingham, AL!

The focus of this position is providing planning, design and technical assistance to Discipline Manager and other members of design team in delivering projects within budgetary and time constraints.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include
  • Performs engineering analyses and evaluations (primarily computer-based) in support of the planning and design of civil works projects.
  • Performs analysis and design of water distribution systems; water supply and treatment components; sanitary sewer systems and components; transmission, treatment and disposal systems; POTWs and other projects.
  • Conducts assessment and evaluation of existing system conditions and develops recommended remedial measures.
  • Maintains and documents written and verbal communications with clients throughout the development and completion of a project
  • Conducts project status review with project manager and team members, checking accuracy of work completed, and monitors timeliness of project completion.
  • Attends meetings on project management.
  • Assists Project Manager in preparation of engineering studies and reports.
  • Prepares project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software and tools.
  • Assists in preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.
What you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering
  • EIT preferred
  • Two to five years of experience
