Staples High School is searching for a Media Education Teacher to join a talented team of educators meeting the needs of all students. The qualified candidate will work alongside a dedicated team of Media staff as well as the entire school community in meeting the needs of all students. In addition, the qualified candidate will work with the Director of Technology creating training materials, including videos, for staff and students. In addition, the candidate will assist with troubleshooting instructional software for teachers and staff and will assist with the district's connection to the local education cable channel.
Qualifications:
  • Teaching expertise in one or more areas of TV Production, Narrative Film Production, Video production; Pre/Post, Advanced Video Editing;
  • Highly organized, familiar with Mac computer software, Adobe Suite, and requisite hardware (ie. cameras, video production equipment.)
  • Savviness with technology, and industry standard protocols, especially video technology in general;
  • Expertise with scripted and non-scripted productions, including TV News, TV Sports (in-studio and field production), documentaries, films, or studio-based entertainment productions preferred;
  • Enthusiasm for teaching high school students; and
  • CT Certification Required (047,062,110).
