This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.
Assists with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system. Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Gathers information to support software project management. Documents deployed processes and tools and collect metrics. Supports software research and development projects. Troubleshoots software issues.
Description:
The Boeing Company is seeking Software Engineer (Boeing Air Dominance Division) to join the BDS Air Dominance Software Engineering group located in St Louis, MO region (Berkeley and Hazelwood). This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
Our Air Dominance software engineers design, develop, and demonstrate avionics solutions for the platforms we build and upgrade. Your efforts will assist integration of innovative technologies to maintain our platform's dominance over the battlefield for many decades to come. The programs include the F-15, F/A-18, F-22, T-7, MQ-25, and advanced programs. Additionally, our software engineers support the Flight Simulation products associated to our platforms.
Our engineers are involved in all aspects of these programs (software requirements, design, code, and test) and our agile development approach allows new hires like yourself to quickly become very impactful and make a difference to our success!
Position Responsibilities:
Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Executes and documents software research and development projects
Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
Troubleshoots software issues
Works under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
2+ years of experience with professional software development
2+ years of experience in C/C++, Ada, and/or a similar object-oriented programming language
2+ years of experience developing, documenting, and maintaining architectures, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree
Agile/SAFe development experience
Experience with DevOps tools, such as GitLab (CI/CD), Git Bash, Gradle, Jira, Jenkins, and Artifactory
Desirable programming languages include: Ada, C, C++, Python
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels
Experience developing embedded real-time software
Experience working with Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS)
