The Senior Project Manager role at Allied will oversee high value projects from start to finish. This individual manages the scheduling, budgeting, resource management, logistics and primary client communication for mid to high complexity projects utilizing PEMB (Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings) and conventional steel framing systems.

Responsibilities:
Project:
  • Works directly with Sales and Project Team members and other project stakeholders to guide, assess and recommend best practices for project execution.
  • Supports Sales Team during initial project assessments.
  • Works in tandem with sales to interface with architects and engineers, providing structural technical support.
  • Prepares project information packages for use by CADD technicians, detailers, checkers and other members of internal and external technical teams.
  • Responds to queries and provides clarification as needed for projects in design, drawing and/or detailing.
  • Handles Field Service Requests.
  • Works with supply chain partners to address shortages and defects.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, defining project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Devise project strategies in alignment with organizational goals and client expectations.
  • Identify and address potential risks, challenges, and opportunities during project planning.
  • Lead and direct project teams to execute the project in compliance with design, safety, and quality standards.
  • Oversee the day-to-day project operations, including resource allocation, task delegation, and progress tracking.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to the project schedule and making adjustments as needed.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and addressing client concerns.
  • Maintain a strong client relationship by ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage client expectations and effectively communicate project status, changes, and risks.
  • Develop and manage the project budget, tracking project costs, and ensuring budget compliance.
  • Monitor financial performance against project milestones and take corrective actions as required.
  • Coordinate with the finance team to forecast accurately and manage project financials.
  • Ensure that project activities and deliverables meet the defined quality standards and client specifications.
  • Implement quality control processes to verify compliance with industry and organizational standards.
  • Oversee inspections, testing, and verification of materials and construction processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure project success.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among various project teams to achieve common project goals.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks by implementing risk management strategies and contingency plans.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate project team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their performance.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting teamwork, growth, and skill development.
  • Prepare and present regular project reports, detailing project progress, milestones achieved, and upcoming activities.
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and project records.
  • Engage in travel activities for approximately 25% of the work duration.

Expertise:
In order to collaborate with the development of the department and implementation of Project Management best practices, this Senior Project Manager role will play a crucial role in assisting the head of the department in the following areas:
  • Support the Project Management Team and other departments when the head of the project management team is out of the office.
  • Provide professional advice on decision-making, project escalations, and coordination to ensure continuity of operations and maintain project momentum.
  • Support the Head of Project Management in the ongoing development of the Project Management Team.
  • Under mentorship of the head of the Project Management department, collaborate in the development of training, mentorship, and guidance initiatives for the Project Management department
  • Collaborate in identifying skills gaps, recommending training initiatives, and helping implement continuous improvement plans.
  • Lead by example in promoting Allied's collaborative culture, professional growth, and accountability within the team.
  • Support Head of PM department to evaluate and refine internal processes for efficiency, scalability, and quality control.
  • Actively support the documentation of standard operating procedures, workflows, and best practices.
  • Ensure process documentation is clear, organized, and accessible for team training and reference.
  • Help Promote and implement best practices in project planning, client communication, risk management, and documentation.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Construction Project Management.
  • Proven experience in managing Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) projects from inception to completion is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills with the ability to lead and inspire project teams.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, codes, regulations, and safety standards related to PEMB projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively.
