Job description

Scope: 

  • Responsible for physically installing, cabling, and performing basic network integration of the Starlink Performance Kit. This includes mounting the satellite terminal (Dish), installing the Advanced Power Supply within an equipment cabinet, and routing all necessary proprietary and Ethernet cabling.

Core Tasks 

  • Network Config: Programming the advanced router (IP addresses, failover settings).
  • Signal Optimization: Use professional apps to find a rooftop spot with a 100% clear view of the sky (zero obstructions).
  • Final Testing: Running speed tests to prove the system works and "provisioning" (activating) the site 
  • Precision Surveys: Uses software to find the exact "sweet spot" on the roof with zero obstructions.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifies the cause of a weak signal (e.g., bad cable crimp, RF interference, or software handshake issues with T-Mobile’s network).
  • Final Commissioning: Calls the operations center to activate the site and runs "Proof of Performance" speed tests.
  • Safety & Quality Lead: Ensures the installation meets local electrical codes and T-Mobile's strict grounding/weatherproofing standards.

As a Lead Tech, you will be responsible for the high-level integration, commissioning, and grounding. You may be partnered with a second technician to start, but will eventually be assigned sites independently.
