Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing and treating a variety of mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.
• Leading individual and couples therapy sessions to facilitate open communication and conflict resolution.
• Developing personalized treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments and ongoing evaluations.
• Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and family systems therapy.
• Referring clients to additional specialists or resources when necessary to ensure a holistic approach to mental health care.
• Documenting therapy sessions and client progress in accordance with clinic policies and state regulations.
• Participating in regular training and supervision sessions to maintain professional development and adhere to best practices within the behavioral health field.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse range of clients, from individuals experiencing personal challenges to families looking to strengthen their relationships. Specifically, you will address issues such as:

• Alcohol and substance abuse problems.
• Physical and psychological abuse concerns.
• Grief and loss, providing comfort and strategies for healing.
• Family conflicts and issues related to blended families, separation, and divorce.
• Job-related stress and its impact on mental health.

Your skills will be critical in helping clients achieve healthier lifestyles, improved communication skills, and deeper emotional connections.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• Active Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) credential.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related mental health field.
• Proven experience in providing therapeutic support to individuals and families.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills conducive to building trusting relationships with clients.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with specific experience in trauma-informed therapy, substance abuse interventions, or work within multicultural communities will be given preference. Familiarity with telehealth practices and remote counseling tools is also a plus.
