Overview

We are seeking a Construction Estimator to own the full estimating lifecycle—from initial takeoffs through bid submission and project handoff. This role partners closely with project managers, sales teams, and project coordinators to ensure accurate, competitive, and profitable bids.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, fast-paced organization with a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs (materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors)
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for landscape, site, and exterior construction projects
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies
  • Prepare bid proposals, scope letters, and pricing breakdowns
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure smooth project handoffs
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
  • Maintain organized records of estimates and historical cost data
  • Analyze project risks and incorporate appropriate contingencies

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 5+ years of estimating experience in construction, landscaping, or related trades
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred:

  • Background in landscaping, ecological restoration, or site development
  • Experience with light commercial or site-related construction
  • Experience working for a General Contractor (GC)
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, estimating, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Team & Work Environment

  • Collaborative team of 5, including sales and operations partners
  • High-growth environment with strong project pipeline
  • Opportunity to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders

Work Schedule & Flexibility

  • First 60 days: Onsite for onboarding, training, and team integration
  • After 60 days: Flexible hybrid model (mix of office, field, and remote work based on project needs)
