Job description

Summary:

Performs and verifies visual, dimensional, electrical, mechanical, environmental and chemical inspection functions.  The inspections relate to source, first article, receiving, in process, and final operations using company or customer supplied drawings, equipment and procedures.  Individual may be required to work overtime and travel to customer and/or supplier sites when requested.


Position Duties:
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Performs inspection tasks using mechanical measuring equipment and drawings
  • Perform visual inspection on circuit board assemblies 
  • Able to generate detail and comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
  • Reviews and approves inspection measurements and recorded test data 
  • Maintenance of inspection records in accordance with company procedures
  • Able to read and interpret internal and customer mechanical/electrical drawings, procedures and specifications
  • General understanding of ISO 9001 requirements in support our QMS
  • Perform Quality Systems Audit per AS9100 requirements
  • Generate and assist in the corrective/preventive action process
  • And other duties as required by the respective supervisor/manager


Qualifications:

  • High School graduate minimum, AA certificate or above preferred.
  • At least 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) preferred
  • Must use or be trainable in the use of basic measuring tools (caliper, micrometer, dial indicators, surface plate setups)
  • IPC 610 / J-STD-001 soldering certificate or equivalent training preferred
  • Experience working under a microscope
  • Former FAA DMIR/ODA Unit Member desired experience
