Location: Conyers, GAJob Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Field Technician is to repair, maintain, and provide technical support to field operations and sales staff, including providing the technical knowledge required to keep company equipment in operating condition, troubleshoot and perform field repairs as required. In addition, the Field Technician will serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the overall team’s success.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

· Schedule, service, repair and maintain the company’s equipment during normal business hours as well as during Overnight and Weekend Pump Watch assignments.

· Perform repairs and maintenance on company equipment at job sites and/or in the shop as required

· Perform quality checks on repaired equipment

· Maintain complete and accurate service records on all equipment serviced and projects

· Tune up wellpoint systems as required

· Complete required documentation of all repairs and service as per company procedure

· Perform project setups and lead laborers to completion of pump system setups.

· Maintain workspaces and promote shop safety by cleaning work areas and removing hazardous materials

· Adhere to applicable company and regulatory agency environmental, health and safety standards

· Ensure that The Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activities


Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Experience diagnosing, servicing, and repairing large equipment preferred

· Specific Pump Experience is desirable

· Appropriate repair certifications desired

· Ability to obtain a valid DOT Medical Card


Specific Expectations:

· Planning and organizational skills in handling multiple projects

· Ability to work long hours in extreme weather conditions

· Excellent internal and external customer service skills

· Computer literacy to complete JSA, Site Surveys, Daily Reports & Repair Orders, etc.

· Ability to work with laborers and guide them on the proper installation and setup of complete pump systems as designed by the Sales Team/Engineering Team that will meet the customers expectations and perform as described in our proposals and/or submittals.

· Participate in a rotational “on call” system to meet customer demands after hours and on weekends as required.


Career Path:

The Field Service Technician is primarily responsible for the mechanical readiness and the operational performance of pump systems at customers’ work sites. This experience will prepare the employee for additional career paths that include, but are not limited to:

· Foreman or Superintendent: Primary lead responsible for instructing crews and managing complete pump system setups. This is primarily for local larger projects that have multiple pumps and large piping.

· Regional Superintendent: Travel across the region to implement the larger and high-profile projects as needed and requested by the RVP.

· Lead Mechanic: Work primarily on pumps/generators in the field and/or the shop.

· Shop foreman: Hands on working and delegating work of Shop Mechanics and Field Mechanics.

· Service Writer: Computer focused data entry for Repair Orders and Inventory Control

· Service Manager: Manage all operations of the Service division for the branch.

· Project Manager: Manage the setup, operation and financial performance of projects from implementation to completion.

· Ability to travel and answer emergency calls during non-business hours

· Ability to work effectively with others

· Ability to multi-task in a changing environment

· Strongly self-motivated, ability to perform tasks with little or no direction

· Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet job requirements

· Strong time management and organizational skills

· Required intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward
