Job description

Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Controls Engineer.
This role is located at our Nacogdoches, TX site. Relocation assistance will be provided.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year.

What you'll do:
The Senior Controls Engineer will design and deliver high-performance control systems for new and existing equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical and safety standards. They will develop and support PLC and VB applications that drive reliable operations. The engineer will partner with maintenance on installs, startups, and troubleshooting, while leading documentation, capital projects, and vendor coordination. Operate independently, influencing outcomes across teams and delivering results that keep operations running at their best.
In this role you will:
  • Prepare capital expenditure requests, have frequent interaction with upper management and outside suppliers and agencies, including regulatory personnel. Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Coordinate projects with people at all levels, departments, and facilities within the organization.
  • Performs work with little or no direct supervision.
  • Independently design and develop projects to support overall company objectives.
  • Wastewater and environmental responsibilities may be included.
  • Perform additional job duties based on business needs.

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology
  • Three (3) years of test/controls engineering experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in many computer programing software such as visual basic/studio, SQL, and other Microsoft applications.
  • Three (3) years of experience with PLC, HMI programming and safety systems design

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High voltage testing experience
  • Five (5) years of test/controls engineering experience
  • Five (5) years of experience in many computer programing software such as visual basic/studio, SQL, and other Microsoft applications.
  • Five (5) years of experience with PLC, HMI programming and safety systems design
  • Experience with SAP

Skills:
  • Strong history of shop floor support and problem solving.
  • Experience with Capital justification from inception through implementation.
  • Good verbal/interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Above average computer skills to enable incumbent to utilize database, spreadsheets, project management tools, and word processing programs; to utilize Computer Aided Drafting programs; to regularly utilize the capabilities of the Local Area Network to perform work effectively.
