Job description

Exciting Opportunity: Associate Project/Construction Manager

Are you an emerging leader in construction and project management with a passion for building spaces that support education, research, and innovation? The University of New Mexico is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Project/Construction Manager to join our Facilities, Design and Construction team. In this dynamic role, you'll help plan and deliver a wide range of construction and renovation projects across our vibrant campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate or assist in the planning, design, procurement, and construction phases of construction and renovation projects, including capital, renewal, and deferred maintenance projects across campus.
  • Support construction safety coordination and ensure all projects comply with applicable codes, safety standards, and university requirements.
  • Prepare or support the development of project plans, bid documents, and specifications.
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules, reconcile expenditures, and approve invoices within scope.
  • Assist with maintaining project information and documentation in university systems and project management platforms.
  • Assist in drafting contracts, RFPs, and project approval documents.
  • Maintain project documentation, coordinate meetings, and track project progress and compliance.
  • Support planning and coordination of building interiors, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Help manage occupancy logistics such as signage, telephones, and move coordination.
  • Communicate project schedules and disruptions to stakeholders, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Work under the guidance of a Group Manager or Senior Project Manager and collaborate with other project managers.
  • Serve as a liaison between campus departments, consultants, contractors, and internal service units.
  • Perform miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned.
