Job description

Job Title: Programmer / Setup Machinist (Mazak)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Range: $26 – $30 per hour
Employment Type: Contract to Hire


Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Programmer/Setup Machinist to join our manufacturing team in a contract-to-hire role. This position requires strong machining knowledge, hands-on programming experience, and the ability to set up and run precision CNC equipment in a job shop environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up CNC machines for production runs 
  • Program at the machine using G & M codes (Fanuc controller) and/or Mazatrol 
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings 
  • Perform offsets and make necessary machine adjustments 
  • Change and manage cutting tools as required 
  • Inspect parts and ensure quality standards are met throughout production 
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize setups for efficiency and accuracy 


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of CNC machining and setup experience preferred 
  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing 
  • Experience with on-machine programming (Mazak) 
  • Ability to perform precise setups in a job shop or production environment 
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset 
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems on the floor
