Job description

Job Summary
The Senior Analyst is responsible for extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data from an array of systems to address complex business scenarios. Responsible for preparing pricing analysis through extensive modeling for all products/contracts in the pharmaceutical business unit, including strategy and recommendations. The Senior Analyst also prepares and summarizes commercial and customer analysis to identify key trends and communicate business drivers, market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and product/contract opportunities to marketing, sales, and leadership teams. The primary responsibilities will be to implement all pricing strategies and support contract marketing initiatives for respective customers including management of the daily business functions such as bids, RFI's/RFP's, awards, special programs, Ad Hoc, GPO's, IDN's under assigned commercial customers. This role will be a point of contact sales to articulate pricing recommendations and contract strategy for a variety of Fresenius Kabi customers that deliver maximum return.
This is a hybrid position, and the selected candidate will be required to work onsite in the Lake Zurich, Illinois office 3 days a week.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 per year
Position is eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 6% of the base salary. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities
1. Pricing & Contract Strategy
  • Creates and manages pricing for GPOs, IDNs, and complex key accounts; provides pricing recommendations for special orders, bids/RFPs, and other commercial initiatives.
  • Collaborates with sales teams to evaluate customer usage, cross-referencing activities, and identify opportunities throughout the pharmaceutical portfolio; oversees and addresses customer pricing disputes as required.

2. Analytics, Reporting & Communication
  • Communicates findings, trend analyses, and recommendations verbally and in writing to management and other stakeholders; articulates risks/impacts of pricing and business-analysis decisions while weighing multiple factors (contract strategy, pricing, and rebates).
  • Develops, maintains, and enhances reporting templates; prepares/distributes complex ad hoc sales and management reports; ensures data quality of all outgoing reports and analyses.
  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data, conducting comparative analyses, and evaluating market/competitive and customer-specific trends; reviews business drivers using cost-benefit analysis.
  • Prepares analyses for the weekly Marketing/Commercial Contracting & Analysis update meeting and provides pricing recommendations based on results and stakeholder feedback.

3. Bids/RFPs, Compliance & Rebates
  • Compiles and maintains sales data and product information to support timely customer submissions (RFI/RFP/bids) and related analyses.
  • Acts as project manager and provides analytical support/guidance for GPO bid rolls and other contract marketing initiatives; participates in RFI/RFP/bid submissions.
  • Reviews contract compliance and recommends actions on a monthly basis; supports calculation and validation of customer rebates.

4. Demand Planning & Forecasting
  • Analyzes key KPIs (e.g., forecast accuracy) to drive demand planning improvements; partners with marketing managers and supply chain to ensure forecasts are entered/maintained in systems.
  • Supports new product launch/new molecule processes by keeping models and information current; supports financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.

5. Tools & System
  • Uses SAP, Model N, Qlik, and other reporting/databases (e.g., TM1, BEX, MicroStrategy) and maintains working knowledge of CRM/CLM and RFP software platforms (e.g., Salesforce).

6. Process Improvement
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and develops/enhances tools to support team deliverables; facilitates cross-functional and Contract Marketing process improvements.

7. Training & Development
  • Develops and maintains Contracts & Pricing Team training library content and SOPs; provides on-the-job training, guidance, and quality review for Analysts/Associate Analysts.

8. General & Compliance
  • Completes all required training, including department-specific and compliance training.
  • Performs other reasonable work activities as assigned by management.
  • All employees are responsible for ensuring the compliance to company documents, programs and activities related to the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, as per your roles and responsibilities

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required (Advanced degree is a plus).
  • 5+ years' related experience (i.e. Finance, Pricing, Contracting, Marketing, etc.).
  • Healthcare or related industry i.e., Med Tech, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated solid business acumen and experience with customer agreements (experience with GPO, IDN, and hospital contracting).
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills accompanied with critical thinking and problem resolution skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel with proficiency in Word and PowerPoint; and other database/ERP concepts (i.e., SAP, Salesforce, etc.).
  • Data visualization software experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects with demonstrated time management skills as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends to meet business/customer needs
