We are seeking a highly motivated RFP and Investment Data Specialistto complete Investment Management RFP and data/database team projects as workflow demands. This may include:
  • Completing and maintaining information on Investment Management division in third-party databases and applying analytical skills to evaluate and complete custom data requests for IM business development, client service, and portfolio teams and other internal customers
  • Respond to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and consultant questionnaires. Collaborate with Investment Management business development and client service staff to evaluate appropriate information for qualitative responses, distinguish William Blair products and services from competitors, and assemble and deliver responses which portray William Blair in the most favorable perspective. Coordinate implementation and maintenance of RFP library for documentation and future reference and work independently with subject matter experts to maintain current and accurate approved library of responses

Specific responsibilities may also include but are not limited to:
  • Monitoring and updating third-party database providers and act as subject matter experts for similar data in RFPs to ensure consistency within proposals.
  • Apply foundational analytical expertise to support business development and client service teams across Investment Management. Requires independent management of projects to ensure data is correct and deadlines are met. Requires ability to evaluate data from multiple systems to coordinate appropriate data results.
  • Build knowledge of William Blair institutional investment strategies and products. Obtain information on investment philosophy, features and performance of specific investment products.
  • Collaborate with RFP team for questionnaire response workflows and activities. Ensure that requests are completed within established timeframes and independently work with subject matter experts on unique qualitative and quantitative answers.
  • Maintenance of the RFP database for documentation and future reference. Recommend appropriate responses to sales and marketing staff in accessing reference information. Independently respond to ad hoc requests for information independently.
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Marketing related field preferred
  • Some experience or internship in asset management marketing preferred; financial services industry experience preferred
  • Project management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple functions
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Knowledge of investment concepts, products and applicable regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn multiple types of systems and industry standard data sources

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at time of posting is below. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Actual base salary within the specified range is based on several factors, including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, specific degrees and certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position.
This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.
