Job Title: Product Engineer

Job Description

This Product Engineer role focuses on maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment and processes, validating and optimizing new product workflows, and managing technical communication related to products. The position ensures that assigned manufacturing processes consistently meet quality, delivery, and cost targets while supporting continuous improvement and providing technical guidance to others.

Responsibilities

  • Develop manufacturing solutions and services that are high-quality, cost-appropriate, and aligned with customer requirements.
  • Establish and deepen an area of technical specialty within manufacturing processes and mentor team members in that discipline.
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment to create, analyze, and verify manufacturing processes and product-related work.
  • Demonstrate expertise across multiple phases and processes of the full product and process requirements and specifications as they apply to the role.
  • Work independently within at least one phase or process of the manufacturing process or product without direction from mentors or functional management.
  • Design, validate, and optimize new product processes to support efficient and robust manufacturing.
  • Maintain and oversee assigned manufacturing processes to ensure consistent performance against quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Produce comprehensive project documentation in accordance with established quality and change management procedures and guidelines.
  • Support process improvement initiatives within manufacturing to enhance product integration and overall efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage technical communication related to products and processes.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in product integration and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven in process improvement within a manufacturing environment, preferably involving medical devices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive process decisions.
  • Statistical analysis skills, including the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) software.
  • Ability to utilize lab tools, test equipment, and measurement equipment to support process validation and verification.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently on at least one phase or process of a manufacturing process or product.
  • Ability to produce clear, comprehensive project documentation aligned with quality and change management procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 or more years of related experience is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience working with medical device products or regulated manufacturing environments is advantageous.
  • Previous exposure to lab tools, test equipment, and measurement equipment is preferred.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding others in a technical discipline is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with full product and process requirements and specifications across multiple phases of development and manufacturing.

Work Environment

The role operates in a manufacturing and engineering environment that involves working with production equipment, lab tools, test instruments, and measurement equipment. The position requires regular interaction with cross-functional teams, adherence to established quality and change management procedures, and consistent focus on meeting quality, delivery, and cost targets. Work may involve time on the production floor as well as in office or lab settings, using analytical and statistical tools, including Statistical Process Control software, to monitor and improve processes

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
