Job description

Travel Radiation Therapist (Contract)
Location: Davenport, IA
Term: 13-week assignment (with potential extension)
Shift: 5x8-hour shifts

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Compensation:

  • Taxable Wages: $1,120/week
  • Non-Taxable Stipend: $1,246/week
  • Total Gross Weekly Pay (Based on 40 hours): $2,366

Position Overview:

This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced Radiation Therapist seeking to contribute to high-quality patient care in a supportive oncology setting. The therapist will be responsible for delivering external beam radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist, in coordination with the radiation oncology team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and safely deliver prescribed radiation therapy according to departmental protocols and physician instructions
  • Monitor patients during treatment sessions for physical and emotional responses, and report any unusual findings or adverse reactions promptly
  • Assist in emergency response procedures if needed during treatment sessions
  • Coordinate with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and administrative staff to maintain an accurate and efficient treatment schedule
  • Ensure all patient documentation, charts, and treatment records are complete and compliant with clinical standards
  • Support imaging and simulation procedures as part of the radiation treatment planning process
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and infection control protocols
  • Stay current with industry practices and technology through continuing education

Required Qualifications:

  • ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy
  • Active and valid state license (required at time of hire)
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience delivering radiation therapy
  • Ability to work 5 consecutive 8-hour shifts (Monday–Friday)
