Job description

Required to relocate to/be onsite in Nashville, TN.

OCI is transforming the developer platform experience. We are building an all-new application deployment system that will become a critical foundation for how developers build, validate, release, operate, and evolve services on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. This is a rare opportunity to shape a greenfield platform with broad customer impact and a direct role in OCI's next phase of growth.

As a Senior Platform Software Engineer, you will design and deliver reliable, secure, and delightful deployment capabilities that improve the day-to-day lives of developers. You will help teams move faster with confidence, shorten the path from idea to customer value, and establish industry-leading foundations for the rapid adoption of agentic engineering-without compromising the safety, governance, or reliability of our systems.

You will work on a high-leverage platform at the intersection of developer productivity, cloud reliability, and the future of software delivery. The systems you build will help OCI teams and customers deliver value more quickly and safely, while setting a durable standard for trustworthy agentic engineering at cloud scale.

Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a record of delivering production-quality distributed systems, platform services, or developer tools.

  • Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages such as Java, Go, C++, C#, Python, or similar.

  • Experience designing APIs, data models, and service architectures with attention to scalability, availability, security, and operability.

  • Solid understanding of cloud-native systems, including containers, orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, or release engineering concepts.

  • Demonstrated ownership: you can drive work from problem definition through design, implementation, launch, and ongoing operation.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines.

Preferred qualifications: Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus.

  • Application deployment platforms, continuous delivery, GitOps, artifact management, or developer platform engineering.

  • Large-scale distributed systems, multi-tenant cloud services, control planes, or workflow orchestration.

  • Site reliability engineering, production incident response, observability, or capacity and performance engineering.

  • Security engineering, identity and access management, policy-as-code, supply-chain security, or compliance automation.

  • AI-assisted developer tools, agentic workflows, or the design of safety controls for autonomous or semi-autonomous systems.
