Position Overview
Formerra Distribution is always searching for exceptional technical professionals to join our team. This evergreen posting is intended for future Application Development Technical Services Lead Engineer openings as our business continues to expand. If you're energized by partnering with customers, solving complex technical challenges, and driving application innovation, this could be your next career move.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • With general supervision, provides project management for the development of new application, product launch testing plan, data analysis, and/or communication of results.
  • Works with targeted and established customers to identify technical specifications required for Formerra customers.
  • Responsible for internal training of sales associates, furthering their knowledge and understanding of polymers, processing, and design.
  • Provide training to Formerra customers, OEM's, and industry events as needed on materials, processing, design, and other industry related topics as needed.
  • Incorporates Formerra products and services into customer applications across multiple business units.
  • Work with suppliers to understand and convey OEM material / market needs.
  • Documentation and preparation of product specifications incorporating Formerra products and services into customer applications.
  • Manages successful resolution of customer complaints/issues.
  • Initiates process improvement efforts at key customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
  • Complex problem thinking skills in translating customer needs into solutions.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Broad knowledge of solutions, materials and processing.
  • Self-motivated and team player.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Position will require up to 75% travel

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required in Chemical Engineering, Plastics or Polymer Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years completing technical writing, customer support, research, and project management
