**This role is on a Contract basis**
Principle Accountabilities
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints or job orders to determine specifications of the job
  • The ability to hold fabrication tolerances at +/- 1/16" (or better) is a must.
  • Set up material which will be stainless sheet metal, tubing, and other forms of stainless steel
  • Perform tack or set up welds using a TIG welder
  • Utilize measuring tools as required: tape measure, caliper, machinist square, protractor, OD micrometer, etc.
  • Verify weldments conform to drawings and specs and make corrections as required.
  • To weld on a broad range of metals and alloys for a wide variety of complex precision assemblies, involving a considerable amount of welding to high strength and pressure requirements.
  • Weld parts, components, frames, and weldments per drawings.
  • Finalize everything with a TIG welder welding so end result is seamless
  • Accurately produce frames within required tolerances and squareness
  • Grind and polish all sharp edges on workpieces as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • At least 5 years' experience as a TIG welder with the ability to fabricate in a job shop environment
  • Experience with steel or mild steel, material ranging from 1/16" up to ½"
  • Use grinders, saws, polishers, hand tools, power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints without assistance
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Able to operate a bending brake press
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure
  • Leveling and squaring ability (without the assistance of others)
  • Ability to occasionally push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds by oneself
  • Ability to bend and rotate body repeatedly

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Frequently required to grasp, handle/feel objects, control/manage tools, and use hands/arms.
  • Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
