Location: New York, NY (Hybrid - 2 days remote)

Overview:
We are seeking an Oracle Cloud Architect who will support our NYC client. This role will design secure, scalable OCI-focused cloud architectures, standards, governance models, and hybrid/multi-cloud integration patterns while partnering with business and technical teams. The consultant will guide engineering teams, support migration and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives, and work a 37.5-hour week on a hybrid schedule.
Duties:
  • Design OCI-focused cloud architectures, standards, governance models, frameworks, and architecture patterns that support scalable, secure, and resilient solutions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate requirements into cloud, hybrid infrastructure, networking, security, and migration architectures.
  • Develop high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-cloud architecture approaches across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Define and expand Infrastructure-as-Code and automation practices using Terraform, Ansible, and API/CLI automation.
  • Guide engineering teams on cloud implementation practices and support operational requirements including configuration, patching, VLAN/network configuration, backups, monitoring, alerts, and observability.
  • Produce architecture documentation and roadmaps, and define monitoring, observability, SLA, SLO, and SLI practices for reliable cloud services.

Mandatory Qualifications:
  •  
  • 6+ years of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience; proficiency in OCI is mandatory.
  • 6+ years of hybrid infrastructure experience, including integration of cloud and on-premises environments.
  • 4+ years of cloud networking experience, including network and VLAN configuration.
  • 6+ years of cloud DevOps and automation experience, including Terraform, Ansible, and API/CLI automation.
  • 2+ years of cloud security experience.
  • 1+ years of Cloud FinOps experience.
  • 2+ years of architecture documentation experience using Visio or Abacus.
  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms, services, governance, frameworks, architecture patterns, standards, and best practices.
  • Extensive experience with cloud servers and environments, including configuration, patching, backups, system monitoring, and alerts.
  • Experience with Oracle database technologies including Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, RMAN, and database licensing.
  • Experience with Oracle platforms and services including Exadata, ExaCC, ExaDB-D, Exascale, DBaaS, and OEM.
  • Experience designing High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Multi-Cloud Architecture solutions.
  • Experience with SRE and DevOps practices including monitoring, observability, SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs.
  • Experience assessing product architecture and roadmaps.
  • 1+ years of AWS experience.
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Azure experience.
  • 1+ years of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience.
  • Linux administration or network administration skills.
  • Proficiency with AI.

Desirable Qualifications:
Current Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certification (OCI Architect Professional or OCI Architect Associate); certification credentials should be submitted when available.
