Job description

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer (Oracle focused) to help design, implement, and manage Oracle Cloud solutions, with an emphasis on automation, operational excellence, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, manage, and optimize Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments (compute, networking, storage, and security).

  • Build and maintain highly available, scalable, and resilient Oracle database solutions (e.g., Autonomous DB, Oracle RAC, Exadata, DBCS).

  • Ensure disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) solutions for critical Oracle workloads.

  • Work with security and networking teams to ensure proper IAM, security policies, and network configurations in OCI.

  • Stay up to date with the evolution of Oracle cloud technologies & related products

  • Collaborate with cloud and security engineering to establish, adopt, and follow policy in Oracle cloud operating environments

  • Develop solution blueprints, efforts & estimates based on overall business requirements.

  • Assist in the development of internal training plans (e.g. conduct lunch & learn sessions with regular cadence to help delivery teams learn)

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and database deployments.

  • Use Terraform and OCI Resource Manager to provision and manage cloud resources.

  • Document infrastructure designs, automation workflows, and troubleshooting steps to improve team efficiency.

  • Ensure proper IAM policies, least privilege access, and security best practices for cloud resources.

  • Configure and troubleshoot cloud networking in OCI, including VCNs, subnets, routing, VPNs, and security lists.

  • Partner with software development engineering on best practices in leveraging OCI platform, OIC and cloud technologies

  • Basic understanding of Oracle Fusion & other Oracle SaaS cloud technologies

Required Skills

  • Strong Oracle database administration experience, including Oracle Autonomous DB, Oracle RAC, and Exadata.

  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, OCI Resource Manager) for cloud provisioning.

  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).

  • Experience troubleshooting OCI and Oracle database performance issues.

  • Experience with BCDR for OIC and Visual Builder preferred

  • Experience with troubleshooting performance related issues in cloud infrastructure

  • Understanding of cloud IAM policies, RBAC, encryption, and security best practices.

  • Has proven experience of various Oracle PaaS offering including JCS, ICS, iPaaS, Process Cloud, Mobile Cloud, Document Cloud, and Messaging Cloud

  • Has a very sound understanding of Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) including use of cloud-based UI templates and libraries

  • Has a very sound understanding of authentication & authorization solutions in SaaS ERP

  • Has advanced knowledge and experience in building highly available, resilient infrastructure and disaster recovery planning, including multi-region.

  • Has experience with cloud logging and monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, OCI Monitoring, etc.) and best practices.

  • Experience in SOA Suite & web services (SOAP & REST using XML & JSON) preferred

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or related experience.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) preferred.

  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Relevant cloud certifications highly desirable. OCI Certifications are preferred, but not required (OCI Architect Professional, OCI Database Cloud Certified, etc.).

  • Experience integrating Oracle Cloud with AWS, Azure, or GCP in multi-cloud environments preferred.

  • Familiarity with ITIL, change management, and cloud governance best practices.

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
