Job Description:

The following mandatory requirements must be met by all candidates:
* Candidate must possess clearance to work with Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) according to the current New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (NYS DCJS) policy.
* Extensive experience working in a public safety and law enforcement technology environment. 

Cyber Security Specialist 

1. Roles and Responsibilities 
● System Implementation and Support: Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and support of public safety and law enforcement networks and  systems. 
● Incident Response: Serve as a member of the  Cyber Security Incident Response  Team. 

2. Skills and Experience Required 
The role requires a professional staff member with extensive experience in a public safety  and law enforcement technology environment. 
● General Experience : 

○ Demonstrated experience with the implementation, maintenance, and  support of public safety and law enforcement networks and systems. 
○ Proven experience in software solutions . 
○ Proven experience with hardware/infrastructure solutions  

● Security & Network Management Experience: 
○ Experience with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike). 
○ Proficiency in Network Access Control (NAC) (e.g., FortiNAC). 
○ Experience with Email Security and Filtering (e.g., Barracuda). 
○ Experience in Identity Management (IDM), Single Sign-On (SSO), and  Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) (e.g., OKTA). 
○ Experience with Data Protection and backup solutions (e.g., Cohesity). 
○ Experience with Network Infrastructure, including switching, routing, and  firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet). 
○ Familiarity with various operating environments, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Active Directory, Nutanix AHV, and Apple iOS/Enterprise  Software. 

3. Mandatory Security and Compliance Requirements 
● Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Clearance
: The staff member must  have achieved clearance to work with Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) according to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services  (NYS DCJS) current policy.
