Position Highlights

SecureSky is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Specialist to join our operations team and help protect clients across a rapidly evolving threat landscape. This is a true entry-level opportunity for early-career professionals looking to build a foundation in threat detection and response, and in the enablement of cybersecurity controls that reduce client risk exposure.

This position supports SecureSky’s Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services, utilizing Microsoft Sentinel SIEM/SOAR, Microsoft Defender XDR, and SecureSky’s proprietary Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) platform to help clients continuously reduce attack surfaces and improve security controls. You’ll work across Microsoft’s security ecosystem including identity, endpoint protection, data security, cloud app governance, detection engineering, and SecOps automation.

Who We Are Looking For

We’ll equip you with the tools, training, and guidance you need, while giving you the space to chart your own path to success. We’re looking for people who love cybersecurity, enjoy helping clients, and want to collaborate to grow both their own capabilities and SecureSky’s.

What You Will Do
  • Threat Monitoring and Triage. Monitor systems, process security event notifications, and triage events to determine whether escalation is required.
  • Threat Detection and Response. Identify threats, investigate alerts, document investigation activities, and support incident response and escalations.
  • Proactive Risk Identification. Perform threat and exposure hunting on a scheduled, recurring basis, running queries, interpreting results, and populating client reporting documents based on user behaviors, misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, indicators of compromise, and threat intelligence signals.
  • Security Technology Deployment. Support the planning, configuration, deployment, and optimization of Microsoft security tools.
  • Client Communication. Effectively communicate with SecureSky clients during escalations and on a regular basis supporting their security initiatives.
  • Process and Content Development. Contribute to repeatable security content, detection logic, and playbooks.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a concentration or substantial coursework in cybersecurity (relevant certifications, internships, or hands-on lab experience also considered).
  • Foundational knowledge of common cybersecurity attack vectors, threat intelligence concepts, and security technologies.
  • 0 to 1 years of practical experience in threat investigations, incident response, SOC/SecOps environments, or deployment of security technologies (internships and academic projects count).
  • Basic understanding of cloud, SaaS, networking, and cybersecurity concepts (e.g., identity and access management, data storage and transmission, application operations).
  • Curiosity, adaptability, a desire for continued learning and collaboration, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Note: Candidates will be expected to achieve Microsoft SC-200 certification within 60 days of hire, and to annually maintain this certification during their tenure with SecureSky. Learn more: Microsoft SC-200 certification details
