Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of IR experience and prior travel experience required.

Details
  • Interventional Radiology unit with 4 procedure rooms and an average daily census of 25
  • Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
  • Uses Epic for charting (required), along with Pyxis and SBAR communication tools
  • 5x8 hour day shift from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Weekend coverage limited to on-call only
  • Responsible for approximately 1 in 4 call rotation
  • Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
  • 12-week assignment length
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience required
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and ARRT (R) certifications required; ARRT (VI) preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skilled in venous access, port access/management, and central venous/PICC line care and maintenance
  • Experience with genitourinary procedures including angiography, embolization, nephrostomy, and stent placement
  • Experience with abdominal and pelvic procedures including angioplasty, chemoembolization, IVC filter placement/removal, and liver biopsy
  • Experience with vascular procedures including angioplasty, carotid stenting, dialysis graft interventions, and TIPS
  • Experience with neurological procedures including carotid angiography and thrombolysis/thrombectomy
  • Proficient with fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, and IR imaging equipment (GE Innova IGS, Philips, Siemens)
  • Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
  • Skilled in sterile technique, scrubbing, and maintaining a sterile field
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include equipment setup, prepping access sites, room circulating, and scrubbing to maintain sterile field
  • Additional duties include equipment maintenance, inventory management, supply stocking, and PACS system use
  • Follows isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and infection control standards
  • Utilizes Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
  • Scrubs provided by the facility
  • First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
  • If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, coverage is required with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who were previously cancelled or given a DNR must complete one assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
