Job description

Amentum is seeking a Communications Analyst in Spokane, WA in support of a Department of War (DoW) client. This position is responsible for providing technical guidance and assistance on a recurring basis to select personnel. This includes reviewing and studying incoming reports, conducting assessments, analyzing field evaluations, and examining performance data to generate reports and other materials utilizing applicable software. A successful Communications Analyst will be capable of innovative thinking, possess problem solving skills, and display tenacity and resourcefulness. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to express thoughts clearly and logically, both through written and verbal means.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Review and study incoming reports and provide technical guidance.
  • Analyze field reports and performance data and provide technical feedback.
  • Frequently produce written reports and maintain internal documentation.
  • Update and maintain accurate database records.
  • Read and respond to email from internal and external customers.
  • Send and receive numerous unclassified and classified documents.
  • Provide technical guidance for customers, projects, training exercise support, and government counterparts.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary correspondence, communications, reports, and briefings for weekly staff meetings, projects, and other needs.
  • Assist with preparing and maintaining various checklists and spreadsheets.
  • Perform escort duty as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have an Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.
  • 1-3 years' work experience or education in any of the following fields: instructor/educator, mathematics, computer science, English, or linguistics.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
  • Highly developed attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in a team/collaborative environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4 or more years of related experience.
  • Experience working in/with the military is beneficial.
  • Graduate of an accredited academic instructor/educator course.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Other Requirements:
  • This is a non-remote, full-time on-site position.
  • Some after-hours or short-term shift work may be required to support urgent customer needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time working at a desk and to walk/stand for extended periods of time to escort personnel, as necessary.
  • Must be able to lift various sizes of materials and equipment (up to 40 lbs).
  • Occasional travel may be required (0-10%).
  • Must complete training requirements and be fully qualified in position within 6 months of start date.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $25.00 to $45.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. Benefits to include:
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k.
  • Paid time off (PTO) accrued weekly at 2.31 hours per week. Accruals are based on years of service.
  • 11 Paid holidays.
