Schivo Medical is a contract manufacturing that creates medical devices, surgical tools and military components. We are located in Plainview, NY. We are seeking to hire a mid-level Manufacturing Engineer ideally that has worked a few years for a CNC Manufacturer.  


A Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production.



  • Necessary Education, Skills, and Competencies (including licensing and certifications):


  • 3 to 5 years solid work experience as a manufacturing engineer.
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. CAD, MS Office)
  • Project management skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Teamwork skills


Manufacturing Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed.
  • Lead or assist in the cost estimating process.
  • Provide cost estimations for new and existing projects.
  • Create, test, and implement manufacturing process.
  • Study production and machine requirements
  • Develop and test effective automated and manual systems.
  • Design and install equipment.
  • Implement manufacturing processes that result in high-quality products.
  • Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources.
  • Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance.
  • Resolve issues and delays in production.

  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.
  • Upgrade systems and processes with new technology.
