About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Reinsurance Accountant to support a large-scale financial systems implementation initiative. This role will partner closely with accounting leadership to validate system-generated financial data, perform reconciliations, and ensure accuracy across reporting processes. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong analytical skills and experience in complex financial transactions.
Position: Temporary Reinsurance Accountant
Length: 6 months
Hourly rate: $30-35
Location: 100% remote need to work EST/CST time zone
Key Responsibilities
  • Review and validate system-generated financial calculations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile system outputs against manual accounting records and general ledger balances.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between automated calculations and existing accounting processes.
  • Partner with accounting, finance, and technology teams to support data validation efforts.
  • Analyze and compare testing and production environments to verify data integrity and system performance.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives related to financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Document findings and provide recommendations to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably involving complex financial transactions, reconciliations, or insurance-related accounting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Ability to interpret large data sets and identify discrepancies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
