Job description

Title: Mainframe Operator/Analyst
Location: Pontiac, MI (hybrid)
Duration: Long term Contract

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mainframe Operator who will also function as a Level 1 Incident Manager, responsible for monitoring, triaging, and resolving critical IT incidents. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor mainframe control consoles and ensure optimal system performance
  • Act as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical IT incidents and events
  • Create, escalate, triage, and track technology-related incidents
  • Collaborate with IT teams, customers, and vendors for issue resolution
  • Utilize monitoring tools to track infrastructure, connectivity, and service availability
  • Assist in review and validation of mainframe Job Control Language (JCL)
  • Perform assigned operational and delivery tasks
  • Work in rotational shifts, including holidays, weekends, and night shifts

Required Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Mainframe systems
  • Strong experience with monitoring tools such as What's Up Gold, Pingdom, PRTG
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams
  • Knowledge of incident management processes and tools
  • Basic understanding of JCL (Job Control Language)
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
