Job description

Mainframe Operator

We are seeking a Mainframe Operator in Pontiac, MI for a 1+ Year Contract (Potential for Conversion).

Job Summary: The Mainframe Operator functions as a Level 1 Incident Manager, responsible for monitoring and managing critical IT incidents and events across multiple technologies. This role involves tracking infrastructure health using monitoring tools, escalating and documenting technology issues, and maintaining clear communication with IT teams, customers, and vendors. Duties include monitoring mainframe control consoles, reviewing job control language, and performing routine operational tasks and deliveries. The position requires onsite presence, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and flexibility to work varying shifts, including overnights.

Technical Environment: Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft Teams and familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools such as What's Up Gold, Pingdom, PRTG, Incident Triage, Incident Manager and IBM Mainframe systems.

*Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder working W2.
