Position Overview

We are seeking a Litigation Attorney experienced in complex commercial litigation to join our collaborative team of legal professionals. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys autonomy, and takes ownership of their cases from start to finish.

The ideal candidate can independently manage all aspects of litigation, from early case strategy through trial and appeal, including matters involving trade secrets, trademarks, non-competes, breach of contract, and related disputes.

Our team is lean, collaborative, and high-performing. We set a high bar for quality and provide the support to meet it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload of complex commercial litigation matters from pre-suit through trial and appeal
  • Develop case strategy and oversee execution across all phases of litigation
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs; argue motions in court
  • Manage discovery, including drafting and responding, and conducting depositions
  • Represent clients in mediations, hearings, and trials
  • Provide strategic, business-focused legal counsel to clients
  • Identify creative solutions and opportunities in complex legal challenges
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and clients on case strategy
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the Michigan State Bar
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in complex commercial litigation
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage cases with minimal supervision
  • Strong experience in drafting pleadings, taking depositions, and arguing motions
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong client communication and relationship management abilities
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
