Our firm handles complex litigation matters with a strong focus on client advocacy, professionalism, and effective dispute resolution. We foster a collaborative environment where attorneys are empowered to take ownership of their cases, contribute strategically, and grow professionally.
We are currently seeking an experienced Business Litigation Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, exceptional legal writing and analytical skills, and the ability to independently manage complex business disputes from inception through trial.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Expertise & Strategic Support
  • Provide high-level legal advice and analysis in complex litigation matters, particularly business and commercial disputes.
  • Offer strategic input on case development, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Advise on declaratory judgment actions, including initiating and defending such claims in state and federal courts.
Declaratory Actions
  • Handle matters involving declaratory relief in breach of contract, tortious interference, insurance disputes, and other business-related litigation.
  • Draft and review declaratory pleadings, analyze legal issues requiring judicial clarification, and develop litigation strategies based on likely court interpretations.
Litigation Support
  • Manage cases from pre-litigation through trial.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and dispositive motions.
  • Conduct legal research and evaluate evidence and legal theories.
  • Conduct depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and court appearances.
  • Provide second-chair trial support or oversee specific phases of litigation as needed.
Client Relations
  • Serve as a trusted legal advisor to firm clients, particularly in complex or high-stakes matters.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case developments, legal risks, and potential outcomes.
  • Support settlement negotiations and dispute resolution efforts.
Mentorship & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with partners and legal staff to ensure high-quality legal services.
  • Participate in internal strategy sessions and contribute to firm knowledge and best practices.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and support team development when needed.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure all legal actions align with ethical obligations, procedural requirements, and client expectations.
  • Identify and flag potential risks in ongoing or prospective litigation matters.

Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active Texas Bar license preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in business litigation or commercial litigation
  • Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures in state and federal courts
  • Experience handling breach of contract, shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, business torts, tortious interference, insurance disputes, and declaratory judgment actions
  • Trial preparation and courtroom experience preferred
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
