Job Summary

Gotion is seeking a motivated and bright recent law school graduate (JD or LLM) to join our dynamic legal team as a Legal Specialist. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to immerse yourself in the fast‑evolving clean energy and high‑tech manufacturing sectors. You will work closely with seasoned legal professionals, gaining hands‑on experience in corporate law, compliance, intellectual property, and commercial transactions that support our global operations. This role is designed as a launchpad for a successful in‑house legal career, with structured mentorship and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including NDAs, procurement contracts, vendor agreements, and service contracts.
  • Support intellectual property management processes, including patent filings, trademark registrations, and maintenance of the company's IP portfolio.
  • Conduct legal research on U.S. federal and state laws (with a focus on California), regulations, and industry standards relevant to clean technology, manufacturing, and corporate compliance.
  • Help manage and organize legal documents, corporate filings, and compliance records.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (R&D, Supply Chain, HR) to provide proactive legal support and risk mitigation advice on daily operations.
  • Assist in managing external counsel and litigation matters, ensuring efficient and cost‑effective legal support.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) degree from an accredited U.S. law school, completed or to be completed by [Insert Graduation Date].
  • Qualified for, or actively preparing for, the California Bar Examination.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of U.S. corporate law, contract law, and intellectual property principles.
