Job description

Direct Counsel is seeking an International Trade Attorney with experience in customs and import control matters to join a reputable law firm’s Business Practice. This partner-level role provides the opportunity to advise on complex international transactions and collaborate closely with industry-leading clients in global trade.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on customs and import control matters, including tariff classification, valuation, transfer pricing, audits, forced labor compliance, and enforcement of antidumping and countervailing duty orders
  • Counsel clients on international trade regulations and compliance with trade agreements
  • Collaborate with attorneys across the firm’s six offices to deliver high-quality client service

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school and license to practice law
  • 7+ years of experience in international trade law, customs compliance, and import control matters
  • Established book of business required
  • Strong academic background with excellent analytical and writing skills
  • Client-centered approach with exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to manage responsibilities independently and as part of a diverse team

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $200,000 - $325,000 annually (based on experience and location)
