What is a contract helper?

Contract Helpers are workers who assist with various tasks on a temporary or contractual basis, often supporting skilled tradespeople or teams on construction sites, warehouses, or similar environments. Their duties typically include carrying materials, cleaning work areas, and performing basic labor under supervision. They help ensure that projects run smoothly by handling essential, but less specialized, tasks. Contract Helpers are usually hired for specific periods or projects, rather than as permanent staff.

What are the typical responsibilities of a contract helper?

As a Contract Helper, your primary responsibilities usually include assisting skilled tradespeople or supervisors with various tasks on job sites, such as moving materials, cleaning work areas, and performing basic maintenance or setup duties. You play a vital support role, helping to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently by handling essential but less specialized tasks. This collaboration allows tradespeople to focus on more technical work, while also giving you valuable exposure to different trades and work processes. The role often involves working closely with a team, following safety protocols, and adapting quickly to changing priorities throughout the day.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a contract helper?

To thrive as a Contract Helper, you need basic knowledge of manual labor, physical stamina, attention to safety procedures, and sometimes a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment is often required, and OSHA training or certifications can be advantageous. Strong teamwork, reliability, and effective communication are important soft skills for this position. These abilities ensure tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with project requirements.

Job description

Contract Administrator / Construction

Atlanta, GA (on-site)

Family-Owned | American-Made Manufacturing

Not all contracts are created equal.

Our client manufactures and installs thousands of kitchen and bath cabinets for multifamily apartment projects across the Southeast. With 350,000 square feet of manufacturing space, production of 1,500 cabinets per day, and KCMA, NGBS, and BABA certifications, they have built a reputation for quality, reliability, and execution.

But every successful project starts long before installation. It starts with the contract.

We are searching for an experienced Contracts Manager to own the review, negotiation, and risk management of construction contracts. This is a high-impact role for someone who knows how to identify dangerous contract language, negotiate fair terms, and protect profitability before a project ever begins.

What You'll Do

·       Review and negotiate GC subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and master agreements

·       Redline contracts, issue exception letters, and negotiate directly with general contractors

·       Identify unacceptable risks and advise leadership whether to sign, negotiate, or walk away

·       Build and maintain a subcontract clause playbook with standard positions and fallback language

·       Manage contract compliance requirements, insurance obligations, bonds, lien waivers & notices

·       Support project teams with contract interpretation during disputes, back-charges, and delay claims

·       Coordinate with outside counsel when necessary and independently handle the rest

What We're Looking For

·       5+ years of construction contract review and negotiation experience in multifamily or residential construction as a subcontractor

·       JD, paralegal certification, or significant hands-on construction contract experience

·       Knowledge of lien law and payment bond law (multi-state experience preferred)

·       Strong business judgment and risk assessment skills

·       Exceptional writing, negotiation, and communication abilities

·       Cabinet, millwork, casework, finishes, or related trades

·       Contract lifecycle management software

·       Georgia Bar admission (not required)

Compensation / Benefits

·       $75,000 – $90,000 per year, depending on experience

·       Health, dental, and vision Insurance

·       401(k) Offered

·       PTO - 3 Weeks

·      On-site in the Sandy Springs office

Why Join Us?

This is not a back-office contract review role. You'll have a direct impact on project profitability, risk management, and company growth. You'll work closely with leadership, influence major business decisions, and help protect a thriving, family-owned manufacturer serving some of the largest multifamily projects across the Southeast.
