Job description

Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Rochester, NY 14623 (Onsite)

Hire Type: Contract

Shift: 8 hours day - 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with some flexibility in that time range.


Job Description
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for mechanical design/packaging electronics. The candidate will be required to meet with project stake holders on a regular basis to understand technical issues and develop solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Independently, develops and implements concepts for range of significantly complex product issues and engineering solutions.
• Technically lead and/or execute engineering projects and spearhead research and development of new technologies, as appropriate
• Problem identification and troubleshooting a wide range of significantly complex engineering problems.
• Specify or perform significantly complex engineering analysis.
• Interface with internal and external customers regarding significantly complex engineering issues to address customers High Value Problems (HVP) for a range of products.
• Generate product specifications. Define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering tests.
• Specify and review engineering documentation and engineering processes.
Functional Knowledge
• 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in mechanical engineering and design
• Experienced in 3D CAD systems (NX) and Teamcenter is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical development and design of high voltage products
• Experience in analysis, testing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and root-causing electro-mechanical systems.
• Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related software
• You have good analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• You are a team player and have the ability and self-motivation to learn quickly and independently.
• You demonstrate strong technical leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high quality products while adhering to strict deadlines.
• You foster an environment that welcomes and encourages new and innovative design concepts, inventions, patents, and product opportunities for improvement.
