Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Infusion RN for an outpatient oncology position requiring an ONS chemotherapy certification and CA RN license.

Details
  • Work in an outpatient infusion center setting
  • Outpatient oncology patient population
  • 13-week assignment on day shift, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Weekend shifts required
  • Floating required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Epic charting experience preferred
Requirements
  • Active CA RN license in hand (no pending license, EMSA not accepted)
  • BSN required
  • BLS certification (AHA only, HeartCode not accepted)
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification required in hand (no pending)
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of infusion/oncology nursing experience required, 3 years preferred
  • Required experience: chemotherapy administration (IV push, oral, continuous infusion), body fluid handling post-chemo, cytotoxic spill management, port access and care, central line/PICC line care, central line blood draws, infusion pump management, IV starts, and phlebotomy
  • Required experience recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies including ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression
  • Required experience managing chemotherapy-related symptoms including nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, dysphagia, edema, and altered mental status
  • Experience administering antiemetics, antitumor agents, antibiotics, corticosteroids, Neupogen, and hormonal therapy required
  • Neutropenic precautions experience required
  • Experience caring for patients with various cancer types preferred (e.g., breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma, and others)
  • Experience with administration of coagulation factors preferred
  • Epic documentation and SBAR communication experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care in an outpatient oncology infusion setting, including chemotherapy administration and symptom management
  • Deliver patient and family education and psychosocial support throughout treatment
  • Approximately 20 hours of orientation provided, with additional time available if needed
  • Caribbean Blue/Teal scrubs required and not provided by facility
  • Flu vaccine or signed declination form required during flu season (October-March)
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

  • Former employees of the facility will not be considered
  • Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 75-mile radius
  • No restrictive rules on requested time off
