We are looking for Field Engineer I to join our team in Vancouver, WA.

Position Summary

The Field Engineer I assists in ensuring construction project activities comply with company and contract requirements and supports the overall project schedule by providing technical support for construction, including participation in planning, execution, quality control, and completion of the work.

This role also assists in ensuring compliance with the Henkels & McCoy established Project Management Methodology and upholds H&M safety and quality management protocols.

The ideal candidate will lead by example in an environment that fosters trust and candor, will maintain personal accountability, and will communicate assertively and constructively.


Responsibilities

The Field Engineer I will contribute to the management of overall project performance and assist in identifying potential stakeholder conflicts. They are responsible for communicating project risks to the PM as they arise and assisting in the development of appropriate risk mitigation steps. This role contributes to the management of overall project performance.

Additionally, the Field Engineer I aids in ensuring that team goals, roles, protocols, and business relationships are consistent with high-performance requirements and congruent with the company's strategy. The ideal candidate will lead by example in an environment that fosters trust and candor, will maintain personal accountability, and will communicate assertively and constructively.

  • Create customer reports and other program deliverables by gathering field data related to construction activities.
  • Provide technical support for construction, including participation in construction planning, coordination, and cost/schedule management.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with contract requirements and support the overall program schedule.
  • Support the project manager in achieving financial results, project tracking and local / governmental agency compliance.
  • Ensures assigned subcontractor activities are performed in accordance with the Purchase Order and subcontracts.
  • Supports PM with permit issues and acts as a liaison between the field and the management staff.
  • Responsible for ongoing communication and timely identification of issues to the PM, including pending or actual changes to the work performed that may impact costs, schedule, contract or customer relationship.

Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Utility construction experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of job costing and invoicing is preferred.
  • Comprehension of construction plans and specifications.
  • Ability to communicate with field personnel both internal and customer.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Project or Primavera scheduling software is preferred.
  • Must be organized and take pride in their work.
  • Must have the ability to multitask and balance a range of field and office responsibilities.
Minimum Educational Background:
BS degree in Engineering or Construction Managerment is preferred.
In lieu of college degree, 2 - 4 years of related experience may be accepted.
 

Salary Range: $77,968.80 - $78,600/annually
